tigWELD welding gloves. HF SAFETY gloves for welders made of soft leather. Gloves that provide a perfect fit to the hand, comfort and high comfort of use.

Leather welding gloves – specialist hand protection

Gloves are among the most commonly used personal protective equipment (PPE). The reason – the employee’s hands are the most exposed to hazards at the workplace. Depending on the type of hazard, various hand protections are used to protect them – for work with glass and sharp objects, for work in the transport industry, m.in. latex coated gloves, which provide good mechanical resistance and tear resistance, for welding leather welding gloves. Welding is one of the activities that require special protection not only of the hands, but also of the wrists. Leather welding gloves designed specifically for this activity are used in welding. Made of high-quality leather, e.g. cowhide split, in addition to protecting welders from electric shock, they provide better grip and abrasion resistance.

Leather welding gloves certified according to EN 407 (gloves that provide protection against high temperatures and/or fire) provide protection for hands and wrists against small splashes of liquid metal, against burns due to short-term contact with a hot surface or flame, against convective heat and UV radiation from arcs. Models designed for welding comply with the EN 12477/A1:2005 standard for gloves used to protect hands during welding. When choosing leather welding gloves, three factors are most important – the type of welding, the type of insulation and the range of motion of the hand in welding gloves. All of these factors should be taken into account when choosing the right gloves for welding.

TIG welding gloves – safe welding with a non-fusible tungsten electrode

Tungsten Inert Gas ( TUNG ) welding involves the production of an electric arc using a non-fusible tungsten electrode in an inert gas shield, i.e. argon, helium or a mixture thereof. During welding, welders are exposed, among m.in other things, to electromagnetic fields, electric shock, poisoning, glare and diseases of the eyes, lungs and skin. Therefore, it is very important to use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). In addition to specialized clothing, footwear and protective visors, TIG leather gloves are used in TIG welding to protect the welder’s hands and forearms. On the PPE market, you can find many high-quality models designed for TIG welding. These models are made of specially selected leather, finished with a long cuff that protects the forearm. Resistant to thermal hazards (EN 407:2004 or EN 407:2020), they provide protection for precision welding work and activities that require protection against temperature and metal spatter.

Tigweld welding gloves – safe TIG welding

The TIG method is considered to be a versatile welding method, as it gives the possibility of joining almost all metals and their alloys, no splashes occur during welding, and the weld does not require time-consuming processing after work. This makes the TIG method popular, but in order to achieve the expected results, it is necessary to select the welding current in the right way and select the appropriate personal protective equipment that will protect the welder from the hazards occurring during work. In addition to the welding apron and face/eye shield, protective gloves are essential for TIG welding. One of the recommended models are tigWELD welding machines by HF SAFETY. These are comfortable and durable gloves made entirely of one piece of specially selected full-grain leather, which guarantees a fit, convenience and comfort of use. The leather is carefully finished and processed to ensure a high level of protection and durability. tigWELD welding gloves are equipped with long, 15 cm cuffs that protect the forearms. This makes them suitable for hand protection during TIG welding.
